Experience a scarier side to Royal Tunbridge Wells this Halloween with some of the spookiest, most fear-tastic events around. After last year’s somewhat half-hearted celebrations, this year on Monday 31st October 2022, trick or treaters will be out in full force, pumpkins will glow bright and ghoulish shenanigans will haunt the town as celebrations promise to be bigger and better.

So, for plenty of fright-filled fun, we’ve put together a guide to Tunbridge Wells’ best Halloween events. You could hunt for witches, cause havoc with your own spooky experiment, or go pumpkin picking, but one thing’s for sure: there’s plenty of fun to be had this October.

 

 

Country Pumpkins PYO

22nd – 28th October | Pumpkin Field, Poundsbridge Hill, Fordcombe, TN3 0RL

The stuff of Halloween dreams and ideal for those looking for a fun activity fit for the whole family, pumpkin picking in Tunbridge Wells is a sure way to get into the spooky spirit. Head to Pumpkin Field in Fordcombe and you’ll find a vibrant grassland packed full of pumpkins of all size and colour. Wander through the laden patches and fill your boots before heading over to the scarecrow hunt – don’t forget your wellies!

Sussex Country Gardener Halloween Workshops

24th – 30th October | Beechglade Farm, Mark Cross TN6 3PJ

Found just a 16-minute car journey away from the centre of Tunbridge Wells, Sussex Country Gardener are hosting a spook-tacular Halloween line up full of fang-tastic events! Think mask making, a colouring competition, trick or treat boxes, pumpkin hunts and more. Better yet, kids get a free lunch box with any adult meal purchased in the café!

 

 

Penshurst Place Witch Garden Trail

22nd – 30th October from 10.00am – 5.00pm | Penshurst Place, Tonbridge TN11 8DG

If you’re on the hunt for spine-tingling events this Halloween, make your way to Tonbridge where Penshurst Place are recruiting ghoulish gals and ghastly guys to uncover mysterious clues that will reveal a chilling secret. Walk through the gardens as the witch’s black cat attempts to protect the precious spell book from thieves in this spooky exploration.

Halloween Half Term Fun at The Hop Farm

22nd – 30th October from 10:00am – 4:30pm | Maidstone Road, Beltring, Tonbridge TN12 6QF

Carve out the perfect Halloween outing and treat the kids to a feast of fun during the half term holidays at The Hop Farm. Dress up in your best fancy dress (optional) and enjoy a host of treats including a Halloween trail, themed arts and crafts, the animal farm and lots more – no matter which activity you get stuck into, there’s plenty that will get the whole family into the Halloween spirit!

 

 

Halloween Half Term Fun at Hever Castle

Treat your little ones to a Halloween visit to Hever Castle where they too have a terrifyingly good line up of events. With prizes up for grabs, enter if you dare and explore different zones including witches, spiders, skeletons, and bats to find letters spelling out a mystery word before heading over to the free family-friendly workshop where you’ll have the chance to paint garlic bulbs to ward off any stray vampires!

Pumpkins and Pixie Dust at Groombridge Place

22nd – 30th October from 10.00am – 6.00pm | Groombridge Hill, Groombridge, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9QG

Groombridge Place and Once Upon a Wish Events invite you along on a magical journey into the witches very own training centre. Meet Gertrude and Wanda, the witches of the grounds and learn how to make your own bubble snake as you enjoy a host of Halloween experiments in the witching school of wizardry. And of course, no Halloween event is complete without a pumpkin hunt and spooky disco!
