Salomons Estate covers 36 acres of beautiful Kent gardens and offers the perfect backdrop for weddings, events, conferences, and countryside escapes.
Situated just two miles outside the Royal town of Tunbridge Wells, our grounds are open to the public seven days a week to appreciate the seasonal colours and scents, winding footpaths, fascinating history, and delicious dining in The Bistro, meaning there’s always a reason to visit.
Our history
Steeped in history and charm, Salomons Estate’s story began in the 19th century. The estate was bought by the illustrious David Salomons, the first Jewish Lord Mayor of London. Over the years, it underwent many transformations, inherited by three generations of the Salomons family, each enriching its legacy.
From war heroes and politicians to scientists and engineers, Salomons Estate stands as a testament to its fascinating past. Visitors are invited to explore our story through the beautiful museum open seven days a week, which is free to enjoy and displays artefacts, statues, original art and more. EXPLORING OUR GROUNDS
Nestled within 36 acres of rolling gardens, Salomons Estate welcomes visitors with winding paths, picturesque woodlands, enchanted Fairy trails, and a serene lake, all available to explore seven days a week.
Our grounds are a haven for local wildlife and boast meticulously tended gardens where guests can buy goose feed, seedlings, and flowers lovingly potted by our dedicated gardeners.
We extend a warm welcome to families and their four-legged friends, encouraging all to enjoy a leisurely afternoon amongst our estate’s natural beauty before treating themselves to something to eat at The Bistro.
Please note the grounds around the mansion will be closed to visitors when the house is occupied for weddings.
Dine with us
With a beautiful indoor seating area, a sunlit conservatory with stunning views of the grounds, and alfresco dining on the terrace, you’ll find The Bistro at the centre of the main mansion house.
Our home-baked cakes and scones are always popular, including a delicious afternoon tea menu available every Wednesday. Throughout the rest of the week, we serve coffee shop favourites and a lunch menu crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Fancy something hearty? Don’t miss our special Sunday lunches on selected dates throughout the year.
