What's the difference between hiring a function room and hiring the estate?

Function room hire is the right fit when you need one or two of our spaces for an event: a private dining room, an awards dinner, a corporate Christmas party, or a hospitality occasion. Hiring the whole estate adds exclusive use of the grounds, accommodation and additional spaces — usually for weddings or large multi-day events. Talk to our events team and we'll recommend the right option for your group size and date.

How many function rooms do you have, and what sizes?

Eleven hireable spaces across the historic estate, ranging from intimate boardrooms (8 guests in Newton or Reginald) to The Theatre (up to 220 seated, 350 standing). Most function bookings sit in our six signature spaces — The Theatre, The Garden Room, Vera Bryce, Leighton, The Conservatory and The Gold Room.

Is catering included or can we bring our own?

Our in-house kitchen handles catering for all function room hires. You'll work with our chefs to design a menu that fits your guests, dietary requirements and budget — from canapé receptions through three-course private dining to themed buffets. External caterers aren't permitted.

Can you host our corporate Christmas party?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we run shared and exclusive Christmas party packages each year. Function room hire for private corporate Christmas parties typically books in September and October for December dates, so enquire early. We can host parties from 30 to 220 guests.

Do you offer overnight accommodation for function guests?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 47 bedrooms on-site plus six self-catering cottages. Especially popular for awards dinners, charity galas and partner hospitality where guests are travelling from London or further. Discounted room rates are available when booked as part of the function package.

What AV and tech is included?

Accepted Answer

Standard inclusions across our function rooms: high-speed WiFi, projectors and screens, flipcharts and basic PA on request. We can arrange microphones, staging, video conferencing and live streaming through our preferred AV partners — let us know your requirements with the enquiry.

Is there parking and how do we get there?

Accepted Answer

Free on-site parking for all guests. Salomons Estate is in Tunbridge Wells, ten minutes from the M25 (junction 5) and roughly an hour from central London by car. Tunbridge Wells station is served from London Charing Cross.
